Two days after the 4th Annual SSBTR Walkathon we lost Nicky

The use of the word "we" is very intentional because Nicky was part of our family. In fact, in so many ways, Nicky was why people were walking on Saturday, and why they will be walking next year, and the year after that, and the year after that - until a cure for this insidious disease can be found.

Nicky may not have lived many years but all of us know that is not how a life it measured. This is the perfect example of quality reigning over quantity.

Those of us who knew Nicky will not forget him. And, we will make sure that those who did not know him learn who he was, for he is the perfect explanation of who we are as an organization and that where we are right now is completely unacceptable. Our job is to get to a point where we are totally unnecessary and Nicky has helped us begin that process.
